We are proud to announce that we have once again been nominated for several awards at Cardiff’s 2024 Volunteer Awards Ceremony!
This incredible ceremony is held every year in celebration of the hard work of all volunteers across Cardiff and provides a great opportunity to recognise their contributions and achievements within the local communities.
We are delighted to say we have been nominated for 4 awards this year, which are as follows:
Volunteer Group of the Year:
Our Pantry facility has been recognised for its incredible contributions to the community in providing a weekly cost-effective food shopping facility for the community of Llanrumney. Since opening in 2019, our facility has been labelled the fastest growing ‘Your Pantry Franchise’ in the UK and we couldn’t be prouder. We really do have the hard work and commitment of our dedicated team of volunteers to thank for the success of this facility, who take their time every week to provide a welcoming and pleasant service week in and week out.
Trustee of the Year:
Christine Borley has been nominated for her outstanding work in creating new opportunities for the Llanrumney Community. Since retiring, Christine now dedicates her time to help at The Hall where she can. Christine's efforts help to bring the community together in a variety of incredible ways.
Volunteer of the Year:
Andrea Bahktiari has been deservingly nominated for her dedication and service to the Llanrumney Pantry each and every week. With an incredible service, always complete with a smile, Andreas hard work and resilience have no doubt helped our Pantry facility to grow and become the success it is today.
Young Volunteer of the Year:
William Morris and Lucy Dando have both been nominated as a result of their contributions to a variety of the Llanrumney Hall facilities and activities. William, who’s incredible work in our outdoor Polytunnels, has resulted in a flourish of fresh Fruit and Vegetables, Herbs and Plants, that we have since been able to donate to our Pantry facility and provide our members with a weekly supply of fresh homegrown fruit and vegetables! And Lucy Dando, who has showcased nothing but commitment in the upkeep of out Community Trust through organising several weekly activities, running reception and assisting in our weekly Cuppa and Company sessions.
We are so proud of our team of volunteers and thankful for their contributions to our Community Trust – without them we would not be where we are today.
