Here is where you can find all relevant information for the Llanrumney Hall BBQ & Open Day on Saturday 7th August.
Dates, Times and COVID Information:
The event will run from 11am – 4pm in the grounds of Llanrumney Hall and is completely FREE! However, we will have a donation point on the front entrance for those wishing to donate to the charity.
There will be hand sanitiser on the front gate for people to use upon entry as well as a track and trace system in place.
The event will not be ticketed and so will not need prior booking. You simply turn up on the day and we will allow for as many visitors on site as our Risk Assessment permits. Once capacity is met, we will be operating on a one in, one out basis.
There will be no onsite parking for the event. If you are a blue badge holder, we have a very limited number of disabled parking spaces so please call in advance to register your name and badge with our team so it can be reserved.
Events, Activities, Stalls, Food and More:
Morgan’s Table Café and LHCT will be providing the catering for the event, putting together what will be an amazing BBQ with a range of options. And don’t worry, we will be catering for those with vegetarian, vegan and gluten free requirements.
There will be live music at the Open Day with a variety of different musicians including The Salem Gospel Church who put on such a great show for a us last time and Clockwork Aeroplane.
As we are expecting another day of lovely weather, there will be an ice cream van on site as well as a tuck shop selling sweets and drinks for the kids.
We will be running several stalls for the kids including Hook-the-duck, tombola, ‘knock the tin cans’ and higher and lower. There will also be a number of craft activities for the children on the day including print rolling, a giant community mural and our rescheduled Potato Olympics which many of you have been asking about. There will be a potato face making stall, a best in show from the ones grown from the seeds we distributed and even a potato and spoon race.
There will be sports activities for the children that we have been running as part of our Summer Programme with Cardiff & Vale College.
Finally, we will be arranging several of our Summer Programme sessions in partnership with CAVC to be available on the day such as African Drumming Sessions, a Nearly Wild Show and even Ministry of Life Education providing Music Workshop sessions.
Volunteers:
We are still in need of volunteers for this event and any support you can provide us with would be greatly appreciated. Whether you can give an hour of your time or the full day, we would love for you to contact us and have you on the team. Volunteers will be needed for queue monitoring, track and trace information, stall running, drinks serving and generally ensuring the day runs smoothly. If you or someone you know are interested, please contact us on 02920 001441 or email communications@llanrumneyhall.org.
